"Cults are everywhere..."
Welcome to CultFroggy, Comrades!
This is where every CultFroggy episode lives — deep dives into high-control groups, thought reform tactics, institutional manipulation, and the systems that train people to normalize their own exploitation. We examine cults as they actually function in the world: as power structures, identity factories, and coercive machines that operate everywhere from compounds to competitive arts organizations.
The Marching Revolution investigative work lives here too — because drum corps culture is a masterclass in thought reform, and understanding cult dynamics is essential to dismantling toxic power in the marching arts.
Every episode asks the same question: What power is shaping this story, and who benefits from it?

About CultFroggy Podcast

CultFroggy looks past the charismatic leaders and polished messaging to expose the systems shaping high-control environments — the manipulation, the isolation, the thought reform, and the quiet ways coercive groups imitate each other across wildly different contexts. From recognized cults to drum corps to corporate culture, we study how these systems actually operate, not how they sell themselves.
Our guiding question is simple: What forces are shaping these members, and who benefits from the stories these groups tell about themselves?
We analyze control, susceptibility, exploitation, recovery, resistance, and the patterns that repeat across institutions — without pretending that criticism is disloyalty. Naming patterns is how people stay safe and how communities evolve.
The Marching Revolution investigative work applies this lens directly to the marching arts, because understanding cult dynamics isn't abstract theory — it's survival toolkit for anyone navigating high-pressure performance cultures.
If you're ready to recognize manipulation wherever it hides and imagine systems built on consent instead of coercion, you're in the right place.
HOSTS
Meet the Hosts(AKA: the world’s least synchronized twoish-person team + one cat.)
Edward 1 — The Analyst
Measured tone. Researcher's precision. A brain honed like a freshly sharpened box cutter.
Edward 1 tackles the scaffolding of every episode — the systems, the mechanics, the hidden power dynamics baked into high-control environments. They're the one who can look at a cult's recruitment materials, an organization's bylaws, or a thought reform technique and immediately spot the ideology humming underneath.
Precise, reflective, and relentlessly organized, they're the stabilizing force in a world filled with manipulation, gaslighting, and coercive nonsense — including the cult-adjacent systems thriving in the marching arts.

"I was in 7 cults over 25 years"

Edward 2 — The Gay Id
No brakes. No filter. A wind-up toy someone forgot to turn off.
Edward 2 delivers the firestorms: the emotional tirades, the cult-callouts, the rants that start about thought reform and somehow end with a dissertation on power, trauma, and why your "family culture" is actually just love-bombing.
They're the glitter-bomb of the team — flamboyant, unrestrained, and constitutionally incapable of staying on the script.
They say the things everyone else is afraid to admit… and also the things no one even imagined until they came screaming out of their mouth.
"Girl, here comes Captain Gatekeeper!"
Myron — Special Guest Host & Feline Cultural Critic
The quiet genius behind CineMarch Media — and they're not thrilled about sharing the spotlight.
Myron Rosander Francis oversees every recording from their command pillow, offering sharp critique through tail flicks, precision purrs, and the occasional disciplinary flop. They monitor the run-throughs, approve the rants, and enforce mandatory cuddle breaks when production intensity exceeds DCI safety limits.
Their formal role is Treats and Pets Procurement — and, between us, they're the only member of the team who's never created a toxic rehearsal environment.
But now there's a frog.
CultFroggy has arrived, and Myron is... monitoring the situation. The new amphibian co-host has a big job ahead of them if they want to earn the respect of CineMarch Media's original revolutionary mascot. Myron's standards are high. The purr of approval must be earned.
We'll see how this goes.

The Theme Song
"CultFroggy" — Bluegrass, Reclaimed
When we set out to make a theme for CultFroggy, we knew two things: It needed to feel like a wake-up call delivered with banjo precision, and we weren't about to hire a full studio ensemble on a shoestring budget.
Enter Suno — the tool that let us build a sound rooted in resistance: strings plucking, rhythms driving, and a melody that feels like folk music refusing to stay polite.
And the genre choice wasn't random.
Bluegrass has a long history of being co-opted, whitewashed, and stripped of its Black and working-class roots. So we took it back — sharp, defiant, grounded in collective struggle, and unapologetically aware.
The result?
A rallying anthem for cult survivors, skeptics, and anyone who's ever had to unlearn what an institution taught them to believe. It warns, it questions, it refuses to let manipulation hide in plain sight.
Below are the full lyrics. If you want to hear the track, hit the button and let the banjo wake you up.
Lyrics - "CultFroggy"
[Verse]
Hoppin through the swamp of schemes and dreams
Where the water’s murky but the truth still gleams
I’ve been to the mountaintop I’ve seen the show
Cults are everywhere you’d be shocked to know
[Chorus]
CultFroggy CultFroggy jumpin through the lies
Peeling back the layers opening your eyes
From the preacher’s pulpit to the boardroom floor
Cults are everywhere can’t ignore them no more
[Verse 2]
Left foot in the fire right foot on the bank
Dancing through the chaos where the shadows sank
I’ve been burned by belief kissed by the doubt
But I keep on digging ‘cause the truth gets out
[Chorus]
CultFroggy CultFroggy jumpin through the lies
Peeling back the layers opening your eyes
From the preacher’s pulpit to the boardroom floor
Cults are everywhere can’t ignore them no more
[Bridge]
Hopper by nature skeptic by trade
Frogs like me don’t just sit in the shade
We croak and we call and we leap to the fight
In the dark swamp we bring the light
[Chorus]
CultFroggy CultFroggy jumpin through the lies
Peeling back the layers opening your eyes
From the preacher’s pulpit to the boardroom floor
Cults are everywhere can’t ignore them no more
